(Scroll down for video) A woman was killed in a car accident while on her wedding honeymoon trip with her new husband, according to press reports in Israel.
The Israeli tourist died in a hospital in Barcelona, Friday after being hit by a car last week.
Hadar Shalgi and Nadav Shalom were standing at a crosswalk in the Spanish city last Saturday, when a collision between two vehicles resulted in one of the cars hitting and seriously injuring Shalgi in her head.
The 30-year-old was knocked unconscious and rushed to a hospital in Barcelona. A week later, doctors declared her dead after attempts to save her life failed.
Shalgi worked as an event organizer and her last project was organizing the event for President Barack Obama. She was very excited with the project.
“The families of both the husband and wife are extremely heartbroken after the incident. They just attended their wedding and Shalgi was tragically killed while enjoying her honeymoon. The family needs time to recover,” a source close to the family told YourJewishNews.com. Shalgi was 30-years-old and lived in Ra'anana Israel.
It was unclear when the body of Shalgi will be transported back Israel, due to the policies of the hospital and the delays associated with the Passover and Easter holidays.
