(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested and charged with rape after he allegedly raped a female disabled hospital patient, according to police reports in Florida.
Broward County Police said that a 33-year-old hospital patient is accused of raping another, who could not defend herself because she is physically disabled.
Charles Tarver, of Tamarac, was charged with sexual assault in connection with the incident that occurred on Wednesday, at the Florida Medical Center, where he was arrested.
Tarver and the other patient, were both being treated at 5000 West Oakland Park Boulevard in Lauderdale Lakes.
About 3:00 p.m., Tarver entered the room of the woman without her consent and groped her.
Tarver, who weighs 195 pounds raped the patient despite her pleas to stop. She was unable to fight off her attacker because of her disability that makes her unable to walk.
On Friday, Tarver remained in the Broward County jail with bail set at $50,000.
Tarver has a long criminal history, including charges of auto theft, battery and battery on a police authority.
