Chris and Janet Wright getting married in the sea |
(Scroll down for video) A couple of the United Kingdom, with a love for the sea decided to get married underwater, according to video uploaded to the Internet.
Chris and Janet Wright exchanged vows under the surface of the sea in the Maldives.
Their wedding outfits were left in ruins, but at least they got a big wet kiss at the end of the ceremony.
As talking would have meant drinking water, the couple held signs saying “I do” in front of their guests, which included some exotic marine life.
They chose to swim instead of walking, 39 feet below the sea surface, as they are both enthusiastic divers.
"I was hoping that I won’t be waiting too long at the altar because I could have run out of air," the 63-year-old Wright said. "It was just awesome and well worth doing," he said.
"It was totally amazing. They had created a whole stage area with a rocking chair. It was completely magical. There were curtains and flowers, there was a hallway and a big welcome sign. My big day was incredibly special, and I could not imagine a better setting for our wedding,” his 58-year-old bride said.
