(Scroll down for video) A mother of 4 was killed when she tried to grab a gun from her husband.

Natalie Perriello of Grantham, New Hampshire, was working as a teacher when she had an affair with her former student.

Her husband, James Perriello, 42, suspected that she was cheating and placed a recorder in her car.

Perriello told police he had been monitoring his wife’s emails, social network sites and her text messages.

The husband was angry after learning that she was having an affair with a former student.

He confronted his wife, and they began to fight. When things got heated a gun was brought into the picture.

Police heard recordings of Natalie Perriello, 42, and her 20 year-old former student, who were affectionate with each other and had a relationship.

James Perriello told police he entered the room with a gun to scare his wife and it accidentally went off when she tried to grab it.

The couple’s 3-year-old daughter was in the room at the time of the shooting.

After Natalie Perriello was shot in the head at close range, the gun fell to the floor. Her husband grabbed it and shot her a few more times, according to Senior Assistant Attorney General Jeffery Strelzin.

James Perriello pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

The couple's four children, aged between 3 and 12 are being raised by Natalie Perriello's mother.
