Two teens were arrested and will be charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing an elderly man for his cigarettes, according to police reports in Israel.
Jerusalem Police said that they arrested the two teens on Wednesday. The teens, aged 14 and 18, were accused of stabbing a 67-year-old man, and taking off with the man’s 20 shekels and a pack of cigarettes.
Two suspects were arrested by the Border Patrol station in Beit Shemesh, after a large-scale search.
They were questioned by police, and they admitted to the allegations made against them.
The teens told police that they did not have cigarettes so they decided to rob the 67-year-old man and take the cigarettes in his possession.
The victim was transported to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem, in critical condition.
The two teens will be brought before the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court for a bail hearing.
