Stephen Harper singing |
(Scroll down for video) The Prime Minister of Canada, began singing and dancing after announcing a trip to Israel, according to video uploaded to the Internet.
Stephen Harper drew support from the local Jewish community on Sunday, announcing his first ever trip to Israel next year, and then singing and dancing at a fundraising dinner gala.
Harper was clearly relaxed and comfortable enough at the Jewish National Association dinner to sing his own version of the Who's "The Seeker," and a number of other classic songs.
However, first he announced an official visit to Israel, Jordan, and the Palestinian Authority.
"I have wanted to visit the Middle East, early next year to explore ways of strengthening peace and security, stimulating sustainable economic growth, promotion of tolerance and human rights, and Canadian values in all of the region," a statement from Harper's office said.
Harper, who was not wearing a suit and tie, abruptly stopped his speech and offered a musical interlude for his audience.
He started with the Who’s "The Seeker,” and continued with several more songs, including The Beatles "Hey Jude,""Oh Boy" by Neil Diamond, and Buddy Holly’s "Sweet Caroline.”
