Knightstown Police chief, who was shot by a stun gun in a fundraising event to purchase a new patrol car, said he raised about $800 in cash and received a promise of $25,000 from a Texas company.
Danny Baker said that he has been getting calls from across the country and hopes to raise even more money.
His goal was to raise $9,000 so his town of about 2,100 residents, which is located about 25 miles east of Indianapolis, could lease a new patrol car. He said that he might be able to get a second car with all the money he has raised so far.
He said that the feeling of being hit with 50,000 volts of electricity on Wednesday night, felt like someone hit him in the back of the head repeatedly.
