A police deputy followed her husband after she suspected that he was cheating.
To her surprise, she saw her husband meet up with another female police officer.
Instead of confronting her husband, who is also a police officer, Deputy Edeania Nettles, 39, of Florida, confronted and punched the other woman.
Nettles, who is employed by the Osceola County Police, was suspended after she assaulted her husband's lover.
Officer Jennifer Hoyos, 26, was in full police uniform when she met up with officer Elbert John Nettles. The two were in a car together when Mr. Nettles walked up to them.
Edeania Nettles dragged the other woman out of her car and fought with her.
Hoyos suffered bruises on her body and a bloody lip. Edeania Nettles also ripped a large clump of hair from Hoyos.
The two then fought on the ground before Elbert John Nettles broke them up and separated them, police said.
The fight occurred around midnight in a park in St. Cloud, near Orlando.
Hoyos, who is an officer with the police department of St. Cloud, was on duty at the time, authorities said.
Edeania Nettles was immediately suspended. She was also arrested and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer.
She stands to lose her job pending the outcome of the investigation, according to sheriff's spokesperson Twis Lizasuain.
