Two Israel Defense Forces soldiers were hospitalized after a bomb explosion, according to rescue workers.
Magen David Adom said that two paratroopers from unit 890 were severely injured on Tuesday, as a result of an accidentally activated explosive device near an army post in Mount Dov.
The two were treated at the scene and were transported by helicopter in stable condition to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.
The Israeli army launched an investigation into the circumstances of the explosion.
The two officers were conscious when they arrived at the hospital.
“The two soldiers suffered from shrapnel wounds and burns on their upper bodies and limbs,” Doctor Shlomi Israel, the emergency room director, said.
