Knockout attack in progress |
(Scroll down for video) An elderly woman is the latest victim to come forward and filing a complaint about the racist “knockout game,” according to police reports in New York.
Brooklyn Police said that they are searching for group of teenagers, who are behind a series of random attacks on strangers throughout Brooklyn. Police believe that the attacks are part of a disturbing trend circulating online.
It's called the “knockout game,” in which innocent people are randomly sucker punched in the head.
The latest attack victim was an elderly woman in Midwood, and it comes after eight similar attacks against Jews in Crown Heights.
The 78-year-old woman is terrified to leave her house, her daughter, Rita, said.
The incident occurred on Saturday, when the woman walked down the street, but was too afraid to report the attack immediately. State Assemblyman Dov Hikind persuaded her to go to the police after authorities released a shocking video that showed an Orthodox Jewish man, 20, randomly being hit by a group of black teens in Crown Heights last week.
"Who would do that? Who would attack a 78-year-old woman?" Hikind fumed.
The Hate Crimes Task Force is now looking for suspects in an eight similar attacks.
A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to any arrests in connection with these incidents.
