Another senior member of Chabad in Australia, was arrested and charged with child sexual abuse, according to court proceedings in Melbourne.
The former youth worker of the Orthodox Jewish Melbourne Yeshiva has been accused of a series of sex crimes against children.
Aron Ezriel Kestecher, 28, of East St. Kilda, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on Friday, for a hearing.
The Chabad Youth leader faces six charges of sexual abuse for incidents that occurred between 2009 and 2010, including sexual penetration of a child and indecency with a child.
His alleged crimes took place in an apartment in East St. Kilda. He committed sex crimes against a 16-year-old boy and against a child under 16-years-old.
In one of the allegations, Kestecher, then 24, kissed the neck of a child.
On Friday, police said that a new victim has forward, resulting in additional charges and a fresh police investigation.
