(Scroll down for video) A little boy is dead after he was shot while riding in his stroller, according to police reports in New York.

New York City Police said that a 1-year-old Brooklyn boy was killed by a bullet that was meant to hit his father.

Antiq Hennis was riding in a stroller on Sunday night, a few inches away from his parents, when shots began flying through his head, just a block from their Riverdale Avenue home, police and witnesses said.

The child's father, Anthony Hennis, was the intended target, according to police and family members. The father escaped unharmed but distraught after bullets started flying at Bristol Street near Livonia Avenue in Brownsville at 7:20 pm.

The baby was breathing, but his eyes were closed. It's crazy. They just started shooting, a witness said.
At least four shots rang out. The tragic tot was the only person hit.

Antiq was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital with a bullet hole in the left side of the head, police said.

He died in the hospital shortly before 9:00 pm.
"He just started walking. He was vibrant. He was full of life," the child's uncle, Chris Dobson, said. "I cannot believe it," he said.

Detectives believe that the shooting was revenge for an earlier dispute.
Another source said the father ran away from the stroller in order to draw the fire away from his son.

No arrests have been made as of Sunday night, police said.
