A judge was trying be soft on a single mom by giving her the choice to serve jail time during weekends.
But instead of being thankful and behaving, the woman put drugs into her private parts in order to smuggle them into the county jail.
Teri Jo Knee, 28, of Michigan was sentenced to 60 days in jail and five years of probation after she was found guilty of a domestic assault. Court records indicate that Knee was arrested after she struck the father of her child in the face and then clawed his arm until it was bleeding during a disagreement.
The judge granted Knee the option to serve her jail time during weekends so she can continue work, support herself and her child.
Investigators said that Knee was serving a weekend in jail when a cellmate told the staff that Knee had smuggled drugs into prison and she was sharing them with two other inmates.
The other prisoners denied the charge. Knee and her two fellow prisoners were searched and all three were ordered to take a urine drug test. Test samples for the two fellow prisoners came back clean, however, Knee tested positive for cocaine and benzodiazepines, according to court documents.
When officers confronted Knee with the results, she admitted to hiding a stash of pills inside her body before coming to jail to serve her time. Officers conducted a search and found additional pills hidden in a condom inside her private parts.
She was charged with a felony count of bringing contraband into a jail or prison. Now, she is facing five years in prison.
She is scheduled to appear in court for violating her probation. She also lost the option of going to jail only on weekends.
