(Scroll down for video) A swimmer was arrested and charged with smuggling illegal drugs related charges after he was caught swimming with drugs from Canada to the United States, according to police reports in Michigan.
U.S. Border Patrol agents said that they caught a diver allegedly smuggling marijuana into the United States while crossing the St. Clair River in a diving suit.
About 1:00 pm on Monday, local authorities notified the Border Patrol that an officer saw an individual swimming through the St. Clair River near Marine City.
Using a video surveillance system in the Operational Integration Center of the Selfridge Air Base, a cameraman saw a diver pulling a dry bag behind him.
Police officers arrested the Canadian man after leaving the water near the city marina. They found a sealed PVC cylinder holding more than 8 pounds of marijuana tied to a ladder on the port.
The man and drugs were turned over to the St. Clair County Drug Task Force.
