A man was arrested and charged with assault related charges after he rode his horse into a local bar, according to police reports in Louisiana.

Scott Police said that a cowboy rode his horse into the Cowboy’s Saloon, lassoed a man in the parking lot and then galloped northward on Ambassador Caffery on Tuesday.

“I was in the room drinking with my husband and listening to the Tuesday evening entertainer of the bar, Dustin Sonnier, when I saw Jeremy Mouton riding his horse through the bar entrance. He suddenly came through the door riding his large horse. He rode in and almost hit the violinist. The bar noise scared the horse, and it walked out the door, knocking off Mouton’s hat off his head. The 26-year-old’s head also hit the top of the door frame. Mouton turned the horse around and came back in. When he left the saloon, Mouton lassoed a man twice and threw him to the floor. That is when I called police,” Tammy Guidry said.

Scott Police Chief Chad Leger said the victim, who was not identified, did not seek medical attention.
Leger said the incident began Tuesday night at 12:20 am.

Mouton was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on charges of disturbing the peace, remaining after being banned, aggravated assault and public intimidation. Leger said Mouton had posted bail and was released from jail Wednesday morning.
