(Scroll down for video) A mayor of a California city was banned from entering the Hooters restaurants after he was accused of sexual harassment, according to signs posted on several Hooters locations.
Several Hooters restaurants posted signs on their door that say they will not serve San Diego Mayor Bob Filner, who is battling sexual harassment allegations.
Filner is currently undergoing a two-week full-time therapy session amid a flurry of claims that he forcibly kissed women for years.
Signs, citing "respect" for women and belief "that people have standards," tells the 70-year-old embattled Democratic mayor that he is not welcome.
Francis Barraza, executive director of the Republican Party of San Diego, tweeted a photo of the sign posted on a restaurant door in Rancho Bernardo.
"This establishment recognizes that we all have political differences and we serve people from all walks of life. We also believe it is essential that people have standards.
The mayor of San Diego will not be served at this establishment. We believe that women should be treated with respect,” the sign reads.
Melissa Fry, a HootWinc marketing director, said signs went up in four restaurants so far.
"This is not a political move for us in any way, shape or form. We are just taking a stand for fair treatment of women. In our franchise alone there are 1,100 women, who are beautiful and talented," she said.
Filner, who is paying for his own treatment, has been accused of sexual harassment of 13 women to date.
The city of San Diego has sued the divorced mayor and has denied funding his legal defense team.
