The new my police app
By: John Roberts

The police in Mexico will now be able to follow your every move and read all your emails, according to press reports in Mexico.

If you live in the capital city of Mexico or plan to visit in the near future, it may be a good idea to let the police keep an eye on you.

At least that's what city officials in Mexico were saying when they announced the release of their new app for Android and iOS. The new application, that was launched by the Ministry of Public Security, will allow all residents of the Mexican capital to call the police at the touch of a button.

The My Police app is a simple program that has a function to notify the police and a second function that displays the location of the user on a Google map.

A technology magazine reported that there are two problems with the application. One is the cost for international users and the other is about the publication of sensitive data that could be compromised by hackers or external sources.

Another problem which some people have raised is the ability for the police to monitor everything on the phone including all personal emails.
