(Scroll down for video) A man is dead after he fell from the Temple Mount, according to emergency workers in Israel.
Jerusalem Police said that an Arab man, 40, died on Monday after falling 30 meters, or about 100 feet, from the Temple Mount site, after posing for a photo on top of a wall outside the Al-Aqsa Mosque, eyewitnesses said.
Hassan Suliman Abu Madam from the Bedouin town of Rahat in the Negev, climbed on top of the compound wall and asked a friend to take a picture, before falling.
Paramedics, who arrived at the scene, tried to revive the man and a Red Crescent ambulance transported the man to Hadassah Ein-Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem, where he died from his wounds.
Abu Madam was visiting the site to commemorate Laylat al-Qadr, a Ramadan holiday that commemorates the night when the Koran was revealed to Muhammad, and attracted tens of thousands of faithful in the area on Sunday.
The Temple Mount is currently closed to Jews.
