Wounded Syrian rushed to an Israeli medical center |
(Scroll down for video) Israel is again showing its humanitarian effort toward the citizens of Syria, by treating additional wounded Syrians, according to Israeli officials.
Four Syrians who were wounded recently received emergency care by IDF physicians on the northern border of Israel on Wednesday, with two hospitalized later in the Jewish state.
The four had approached the border fence of their own volition, the office of the Israeli army spokesperson said.
Medical intervention is provided for humanitarian reasons and with the approval of IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz, the spokesperson said.
However, the incident does not constitute a change in Israel's policy to avoid intervening in the affairs of Syria, and Israel as a policy is not accepting the refugees from Syria, the spokesperson added.
The Israeli army said the two victims are to be returned to Syria once their treatment has completed. In the video below you will hear a report how wounded Syrians have previously been treated at Israeli hospitals.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
