(Scroll down for video) After a string of attacks recently on The Tomb Of the Patriarchs, police finally caught the suspects, according to a report by the Tazpit News Agency.

Two Palestinians were arrested last night during an act of vandalism they committed in the Cave of the Patriarchs. The two were recorded on security cameras ripping off a Mezuzah in the hall of Yaacov and Leah. The police acted quickly and apprehended the two, catching them ‘red-handed’.

Superintendent Barak Arusi, commander of the police unit guarding the site, stated that the two, aged 20, were charged with attempted theft and with an attempt to offend religious sentiments. During their questioning one of the detainees denied his involvement, but the second admitted to the charges and implicated his accomplice. They are both held in custody.

This is the fourth reported act of desecration by Muslims against Jewish religious symbols over the past month of Ramadan. Tazpit News Agency reported yesterday that Mezuzahs were desecrated for a third time by Muslims frequenting the Tomb of the Patriarchs.

Following the incident Muslims aged 18 – 35 were barred from entering the Tomb of the patriarchs for a short while, but Major General Nitzan Alon, Head of IDF’s Central Command, rescinded the directive. A short while later, the two, aged 20, were caught in the act.
