(Scroll down for video) A woman was beaten and yelled at for writing a slogan that said: “the nation of Israel lives,” according to video uploaded to the internet.

The Jewish woman, 22, was assaulted in a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Oakland, California, last week after scribbling with chalk the Hebrew expression for "the people of Israel live."

Hannah Larson, who was born in Seattle, Washington, made aliyah in 2010, accompanied friends to a rally. The event was organized by Frank Ogawa in Plaza Oakland to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the wounded Tristan Anderson, an Oakland resident injured in West Bank while protesting the Israeli army.

In the video, Larson is seen taking a piece of blue chalk on writing on the bricks of the plaza in Hebrew, "Am Yisrael Chai". She wrote it in a designated area for "freedom of speech" written in large letters nearby.

Moments later, several people came onto Larson, including a woman later identified as Gabby Silverman, who grabbed away the chalk from Larson, violently cursing and pushing Larson repeatedly, even when she is trying to get away from the square.

As seen in the video, Silverman continues to push Larson all the way to the street, but Larson does not resist.
Born in the suburbs of Seattle, Larson made aliyah almost three years ago and served in the Israeli army.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
