A man was arrested on murder related accusations after he killed a man and his daughter in a Jerusalem office building, according to police reports.
A man and a woman were killed this morning inside their office on the third floor of the Klal Center building in Jerusalem. Magen David Adom paramedics attempted to revive the victims, but gave up after some time.
The motive for the double homicide is not clear, but police have arrested the person who they believe is the murderer, and they said he is employed as a security guard.
The murdered man, Nathan Jornoy, was a lawyer, 55, and the woman was his daughter, Yamit Jornoy, 26. Police believe that the shooting happened after a financial dispute.
Jerusalem Precinct Commander Brigadier General Amnon Alkalai said: "Earlier, we received a report that shots were fired in the Klal Center building. The suspect entered the office, he shot a man and a woman. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The Man was 55-years-old while the woman was 26-years-old.
"As the suspect was fleeing from the scene, a former police officer, who works close by, managed to detain him. Police then arrived at the scene and seized the murder weapon. The suspect was taken in for questioning at the police station. We do not know the connection between the shooter and the victims. Most important thing is that we have the shooter and the gun."
He said the suspect is a security guard at one of the nearby buildings.
