| Passengers push train to rescue woman |
(Scroll down for video)A woman is lucky to be alive after she slipped off a platform while a train arrived at a station.
Officers were informed of the incident. After the train stopped, officers asked passengers to help them in the rescue effort.
A public announcement was made that a passenger was trapped under the train. People went into action to save the woman. Dozens of Japanese railway passengers pushed the 32-tons train to the side in order to free the woman.
It was estimated that about 40 people joined officers in moving the train car so the woman could be taken out from underneath.
The woman apparently fell into the eight-inch gap between the train and the platform during the busy morning rush.
Onlookers at the JR Minami-Urawa station just north of Tokyo, applauded when the woman was rescued.
The woman, who was identified as in her 30s, was taken to the hospital for observation. Luckily, she was unharmed. The whole ordeal was scary, but thanks to the group effort it reportedly took only eight minutes from when the woman fell into the tracks until she was rescued.
