Greater Manchester Police said that a woman has been fined for bringing her horse to McDonald’s.
Police said the woman, who was not identified, was driving the horse when she was initially turned away from the drive-thru kiosk located on Bury New Road.
After she was turned away, the woman brought the animal inside the store, where it did its business on the floor, a spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Police said.
McDonald’s said it is unable to serve customers on horseback.
A girl, who was riding a pony also went through the McDonald’s drive-thru with the woman.
A company spokesperson said: "A woman brought her horse into the restaurant in Whitefield after being refused service at the drive-thru lane. The incident angered customers and disrupted order in the restaurant. Police arrived slapped the woman with a fine."
The spokesperson added: "The health and safety of our customers and employees, is our top priority and therefore we cannot serve pedestrians, cyclists or horseback customers at the drive-thru."
Greater Manchester Police said: "The sight and smell of the horse obviously caused distress and upset to customers trying to eat as well as staff members. Officers arrived and the woman was issued a fixed penalty notice for causing alarm and distress to others."
