(Scroll down for video) The Jewish community in Ohio has come together in order to help rebuild a college that was destroyed after a recent tornado hit the state, according to a report by the Cleveland Jewish News.

Just after a tornado caused widespread damage to Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, a synagogue in the city is rallying to support its neighbor.

Congregation B'nai Jeshurun, a conservative synagogue, with more than 1,000 members, began accepting donations in order to help offset the damage, which are not covered by Ursuline College’s insurance policy. A post on the synagogue’s Facebook page is asking members to donate.

Other buildings and trees were damaged, but no injuries were reported.
"We are aware of the terrible tragedy," Rabbi Stephen Weiss of B'nai Jeshurun said. "They are our neighbors. We have a close relationship with them. We worked with them in the past. We will collect as much money as possible and send it to the university," the rabbi said.

"The relationship between the Catholic community and the Jewish community, and the Catholic Church and the synagogues is a very strong. Ursuline has a strong relationship with the Jewish community. Sorry for your pain," the synagogue said in a message.
