Woman wants to jump off balcony |
(Scroll down for video) People thought a woman was part of a stunt when she was seen going over her balcony on the 14th floor of a building.
But then, screams for help were heard in the area. That’s when a group of stuntmen jumped into action.
A crew of movie stuntmen from a company called Stunts 911, became real-life heroes on the first day of Comic-Con in San Diego, California.
The crew was preparing a promotion of "Kick-Ass 2" when they heard a commotion, and saw that a woman had climbed over her 14th floor balcony railing in the apartment building across the street from where they were.
Gregg Sergeant and his men quickly ran towards the building as onlookers shouted to the woman "Do not jump!"
The men found a security guard, who allowed them to enter the apartment to rescue the woman. "She was hanging from one hand, and had one foot off the ledge," stuntman Amos Carver said.
Sergeant quickly wrapped his arm around the woman in a bear hug while Carver and Scott Schecter helped pull her to safety. The men grabbed her from behind and saved her life.
"I put my arms under her leg and pulled her in. I took her to the room and laid her down on the couch," Schecter said.
The police arrived shortly after the rescue, and said the woman was distraught over a recent breakup. Police said that she has also been drinking.
"I was so grateful that we got there on time. I believe that if we had gotten to her two seconds later, she would have been gone," Sergeant said.
