Saint Ramirez and Miaya Smith |
A Bride and groom were arrested during their wedding ceremony, which was held at a public park.
The newlywed couple of Nebraska was so eager to consummate their marriage on Tuesday, that they slipped away from their friends and family and did the deed under a tree.
However, the risky romp quickly ended when a police officer arrived and arrested the groom, Saint Ramirez, 23, and his bride, Miaya Smith, 31.
The officer noted in the arrest report that three teenagers alerted them to the actions of the groom and bride. The actions took place under a pine tree about 30 feet from a playground in Gering, Nebraska. Officials said it was still before dark and a number of children were playing in the area. Swimmers in a nearby pool were also able to witness the romp.
The officer saw the pair under the pine tree and headed towards them in his patrol car. Despite parking his car near the couple, they ignored his presence and kept going at it. The officer allegedly had to ask them twice to stop what they were doing before they finally obeyed.
As they were getting dressed, the couple laughed and told the officer that they were having sex because they just became a married couple.
The bride also revealed that her 5-year-old daughter was at the celebration and was being looked after by family and friends, who were nearby.
The officer reportedly told her that the child should remain in the care of a friend, while she was handcuffed and taken to jail with her new husband.
The wedding ceremony, which was held in the Oregon Trail Park just before their arrest, was recorded and posted on Facebook.
There were apparently about two dozen of their friends and relatives at the wedding celebration.
Both Ramirez and Smith, pleaded guilty to public indecency. They will now spend the first 30 days of their marriage behind bars.
