| Protest against illegal black immigrants |
A man was arrested and charged with rape related charges after raping a disabled woman in Tel Aviv, according to police reports in Israel.
Tel Aviv Police said that the suspect is an illegal immigrant from Eritrea.
The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, was raped by the man, while he was threatening her with a knife. Once the suspect was done with the rape, he robbed the woman and fled from the scene.
The attack took place inside the woman’s home.
Police said that the suspect was arrested last weekend and is jailed pending an appearance before a judge on Thursday.
Tel Aviv Mayor Run Huldai said: "The burden of illegal immigrants has fallen upon the residents of southern Tel Aviv. The residents are all suffering and their anguish is understandable. The neighborhood was forced to absorb the large numbers of migrants without any government help. We must restore a sense of security to residents of south Tel Aviv.”
Many of the working-class residents of south Tel Aviv have accused liberal politicians and activists of a double standard on the issue of illegal African immigrants. Community members have indicated that the more affluent neighborhoods in north Tel Aviv have no African immigrants, despite being more liberal.
