A Palestinian man was arrested, charged and convicted of killing an Israeli settler, who was waiting at a junction for a ride, according to court proceedings in Israel.
The Samaria Military Court convicted Palestinian Salem Zaral of murdering Evyatar Borovsky at the Tapuach Junction, several months ago.
Zaral admitted to the charges against him, and his sentencing hearing was scheduled for the end of the summer.
As we reported earlier, a Palestinian man was arrested and charged with murder related charges after killing an Israeli settler in the West Bank, according to police reports in Israel.
Salem Zaral of the Palestinian city of Tulkarem, was charged in a military court on Wednesday for killing Evyatar Borowsky, several weeks ago. According to the indictment, the man planned to kill a Jewish settler, and Borowsky was just the first settler Zaral encountered.
Zaral allegedly stabbed Borowsky in the chest while he was waiting to get a ride at the Tapuach interchange in the West Bank. After stabbing Borowsky, Zaral took a gun from his victim and shot several people while trying to escape. He was shot by a border police officer before being captured.
Zaral had previously been arrested by Israel for throwing stones, and he had also been investigated by Palestinian security forces on suspicion of aiding Israel. Police were investigating if the murderous attack was just a way for Zaral to prove that he was not aiding Israel in any way.
