(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested and charged with assault related charges after he smashed a baby’s head because he wouldn’t let him sleep, according to police reports in Texas.
San Antonio Police said that the man, Julian Garza, 19, was watching over his girlfriend’s eight-month-old baby on Monday, but when the mother returned home, she noticed that the child was not feeling well, San Antonio police spokesperson Robert Zuniga said.
According to a police affidavit, the baby suffered from a massive skull fracture, while in the care of man.
Garza told police that he became angry when the child would not let him sleep. That is when he caused the little boy to hit his head on a window sill. According to the affidavit, Garza said he knew the boy was hurt, but did not seek treatment because he was afraid of getting into trouble.
Zuniga said that the injury to the child found to be inconsistent with the description of the events given by Garza.
Garza was arrested and charged with causing serious injury to a child and was being held on $30,000 bond.
Neighbors said they were shocked by the situation.
