Scene of the incident |
A young girl was left terrified after she woke up early in the morning to find an intruder in the kitchen, according to police reports in Israel.
Israel Police said that the girl, Penina Sudri, 14, of Ashdod, Israel woke up early in the morning and went to the kitchen, where she found the unwelcome guest. The thief had apparently entered the house quietly, without waking up any adult in the house.
When the girl saw the intruder, an 18-year-old man, she ran to wake up her parents. Her father, Yishai Sudri, ran to the kitchen where he saw the thief escaping through the utility room window.
The intruder left two knives on the kitchen table.
Police were called to the scene, and while searching for the thief, his cell phone and identity card were found near to the Sudri home. Police have also received a call about another burglary in the neighborhood.
After a while, the thief was caught and arrested by police.
Police said that the suspect is from Ethiopia.
This is not the first time an intruder was caught in the kitchen. As we reported earlier, a homeowner was shocked to see that a strange man was inside his home and cooking eggs in his kitchen with no clothes on, according to police reports in Canada.
Vancouver Police said that a local man has had a bit of a rude awakening last night when he found the naked stranger.
The intruder had just taken a shower and apparently was preparing something to eat when he was discovered around 7:00 pm local time in the kitchen, according to police.
The intruder fled when the owner confronted him, but shortly after the incident, police detained a naked man, 30-years-old, near Trout Lake.
"We thought he was high at the time," Vancouver Police Constable Brian Montague said.
Police are recommending that the suspect be charged with unlawful occupation of a home.
“The incident highlights the need for homeowners to be careful about leaving doors and windows open during the hot summer weather,” Montague said, noting that 400 of 1,157 home thefts this year showed no sign of forced entry.
"If you lock all your doors and shut all your windows it would not be that easy for someone to enter your home," he added.
