(Scroll down for video) A Western Wall security guard was arrested and charged with murder related charges after killing a Jewish man at the Western Wall, according to court proceedings in Israel.
Police said that Hadi Kabalan, a Druze, was charged with premeditated murder over the death of Doron Ben Shalosh, a Jewish worshiper, whom he shot dead at the Western Wall, two weeks ago.
According to the indictment filed Thursday by the Jerusalem District Attorney, Kabalan, along with his colleague, Khaled, searched Ben Shalosh as part of their job of securing the Western Wall plaza. After being checked, Ben Shalosh shouted derogatory comments at the two security guards because of their Druze backgrounds.
"These are goyim, they are our dogs, they work for us, they were brought from Syria,” Ben Shalosh said to Kabalan and Khaled. "You're right. Druze are dogs," the defendant replied.
After the exchange, Ben Shalosh continued to hurl insults at the two guards, as he walked away. Passersby told the security guards that Ben Shalosh is mentally ill and should not be taken seriously.
At some point, Kabalan asked Khaled and another guard if they would be willing to pay him 1,000 shekels to kill Ben Shalosh.
Later, Kabalan followed Ben Shalosh into the bathroom and fired 14 bullets into his body as he moved towards him, prosecutors said. Kabalan only stopped shooting when he ran out of ammunition.
"By his actions, the defendant caused the death of a man in a premeditated way, following the subject and killing him in cold blood without provocation,” prosecutors said. "He also tried to convince another man to commit perjury," prosecutors told a court.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
