A leading New York official’s son made terrible remarks against minorities recently, according to press reports in New York.
The son of the Fire Commissioner of New York, has now apologized for publishing offensive messages on twitter.
The 23-year-old Joseph Cassano works as a fire department EMT.
A local New York newspaper reported that he tweeted a series of disparaging remarks about Jews, blacks and the poor.
Cassano issued a statement Monday saying he regretted posting some comments that were offensive, especially because he likes his job and treats every patient with care and respect.
His father, Salvatore Cassano, declined to comment about his son’s remarks.
The newspaper said that the offensive statements of Cassano included a derogatory term to describe blacks, and a tweet saying that he likes Jews almost as much as Hitler.
