Zisha Twersky

(Scroll down for video) Although, the rabbi has married off many grandchildren, this wedding was different in many ways.

For one, this grandson, named Zisha Twersky, has strayed from the path that the rabbi has demanded of all his Hasidim.

Zisha is the firstborn son of the grand rabbi’s son, Yakov Yosef.

The grand rabbi of Skver in New York, has seven children. Yakov yosef is the grand rabbi’s sixth child. The rebbe named Yakov Yosef after his father who was the original founder of the village of New Square, in New York.

Yakov Yosef’s eldest son Zisha, became somewhat rebellious. He refused to abide by the New Square rules. Zisha shaved his beard and he cut his side locks. His dress code is also a far cry from the traditional black pants, white shirt, overcoat and hat.

Twersky has a nice hairstyle, he wears a nice colored shirt with a matching vest over it. He also wears a nice coat and matching scarf.

This week, Twersky got married. Although it is his first marriage, his bride has been married before. The bride has been married to a man in Bnei Brak, Israel.

The wedding took place in a hotel in Connecticut, instead of the main synagogue in New Square. All other Skver weddings were held in the main synagogue in New Square.

The grand rebbe attended the wedding even though the bride wore a wig instead of scarf, as do all other grandchildren of the grand rabbi.

The followers of the grand rabbi were not invited to the wedding since there were many other Mew Square traditions which were not followed at the wedding.
