| Jewish woman punches Muslim woman in the face |
3 women were arrested and charged with assault related charges after they attacked a Muslim woman at a Jerusalem train station, according to police reports in Jerusalem, Israel.
The three women are Jewish settlers in the West Bank. A 17-year-old girl was among those three who were arrested for assaulting a pregnant Israeli Muslim woman, Hana Amtir, at the light rail platform in Kiryat Moshe, Jerusalem, last week.
The women claim that Amtir attacked them inside the train and that they were only defending themselves from Amtir later, outside the train.
A Jewish witness standing on the other side of the tracks recorded the confrontation. She took pictures of the altercation that followed so that the police would be able to track down the suspects.
A police spokesperson told the court that the women ran into Amtir by chance. They asked her if she is an Muslim and attacked her after she said yes.
The police officer said that the women spat at the Muslim woman, called her a "Muslim b****", punched her and took off her head covering.
Two of the women were arrested after they went to the Jerusalem police station to file a complaint against Amtir, claiming that they had acted in self-defense when they punched Amtir.
The police questioned them and arrested the women when it became clear to police that the women were suspected of assault.
The 17-years old girl was arrested Sunday.
The victim's husband denied the allegations made by the Jewish women.
