(Scroll down for video) A man, who was arrested and charged with assault related charges, pleaded guilty to slashing 9 women’s behinds in Virginia shopping malls, according to court proceedings in Virginia.
The last attack by the man occurred as he slipped behind a pregnant woman in the Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax County.
The woman, 20, realized that the man was creeping up behind her and then felt a sharp pain. Before she determined what had happened, he slipped out of sight.
"She looked back and saw that her pants were cut," Deputy Commonwealth Attorney George Freeman told a judge. "She had a cut on her behind and it was bleeding," Freeman added.
Johnny D. Guillen Pimentel, 42, a native of Peru, pleaded guilty Monday in the slashings, which occurred in several shopping malls in northern Virginia, as part of a plea deal with county prosecutors.
Pimentel was suspected in nine mall slashing incidents in Fairfax, but under the terms of the agreement reached on Monday, he pleaded guilty to two counts each of malicious wounding and unlawful wounding. The agreement sets a maximum penalty of seven years in jail.
In each case, Pimentel crept behind the women in their teens or 20s and slashed their behinds with hobby knife before disappearing into the crowded malls.
None of the attacks caused serious injury, but the Fair Oaks Mall victim required medical attention and was left with a permanent scar.
