A man, who assaulted a woman in her home, was later found by a police SWAT team hiding inside a sofa bed inside the woman’s home, according to police reports in Washington.

Police said that the assault suspect was arrested after he was found hiding in a sofa storage compartment in Seattle, the Seattle Police Department said in a statement.

The assault occurred at 11:00 am Saturday. The victim called police after the incident, but while she was on the phone, the suspect took the phone and threw it away.

The suspect, whose name was not published, fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.
The victim told police that the suspect had at least three firearms in the apartment and that two children were present during the assault.

Two hours later, police received another call from the same apartment, but the call was disconnected.
Officers reported to the scene but were unable to gain access to the house through the door.

A SWAT team was called due to the numerous firearms in the home, and soon after, the victim and her children voluntarily left the apartment.

SWAT team officers entered the apartment and found the suspect hiding in a storage compartment in a sectional sofa.
Police arrested him and he was booked into the King County Jail. The man was later identified as the father of the woman's children.
