A young girl is making headlines with her amazing artistic talent.
While most 3-year-olds are learning to color, one young girl is painting masterpieces.
The 3-year-old girl, who cannot speak, has been diagnosed with autism. While she was going through some therapy programs to help her cope with her autism, her amazing talent was uncovered. Iris Grace Halmshaw, of Leicestershire, United Kingdom has stunned the world with her painting abilities.
It all began, when her parents put her work on the Internet for people to see what their autistic child was able to accomplish. The girl’s parents were surprised when they were flooded with questions from prospective buyers. Now, her work is being bought by art lovers around the world. One of her framed paintings sold in a charity auction in London for as much as $130.
Halmshaw began painting as part of a wide range of treatments, including music and being with the horses, all geared to help with her autism. The condition had made it difficult for her to play with other children or even make eye contact with her family members.
Her father, Peter-Jon Halmshaw, 43, said: “When she started art therapy we thought she was amazing, but we are her parents so we think everything she does is amazing. Then, a lot of other people told us her work was great and it took off from there.” Her mother, Arabella Carter-Johnson, 32, added: "We knew she had something really special and that she was very talented when inquiries to buy her paintings flooded in."
So far, the family has sold eight of her artworks, and they are planning to makes prints of the paintings available soon.
