(Scroll down for video) A man was tasered by police after attempting to save his baby from a burning house. The baby later died in the fire, according to a statement released by police in Texas.
The father was tased by San Antonio police for trying to save his baby boy from a house fire.
The incident occurred around 2:30 am in a fire at his home in the 100 block of Morningview Drive.
Investigators said the eight-month-old child's parents, had left their children at home with their grandparents. Somehow, the fire started in the house soon after.
The grandparents managed to grab one child and run to a safe place. It was then that they realized the baby was still trapped inside.
Emergency teams and the parents of the children arrived at the scene around the same time.
The boy's father tried several times to enter the burning house, but the police blocked him from entering and eventually tased him. The San Antonio Police Department said in a statement that police held him back for his own safety.
The child died from injuries sustained during the fire.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation. Police said the stories they heard just do not add up.
No criminal charges have been filed.
