(scroll down fro video) A company has unveiled a pay by fingertip system where you don’t need to carry cash or credit cards, as all you will need is your fingertip.
A South Dakota college campus, cafe and convenience store, have recently began testing fingerprint technology, which allows students to purchase goods with their fingerprint.
Four teachers and fifty students have registered to be part of the pay by finger program. They all provided their name, date of birth, address, bank details and their student ID. Their fingerprints were also scanned.
Klaas Zwart is the brain behind the idea. He is the owner of Hanscan Identity Management in Spain, which developed the pay by finger technology. His colleague, Al Maas, patented the technology in the U.S. and launched the company called Nexus USA.
Maas believes that people will love the idea.
“We could become an “empty-pocket” society, where you don’t have to carry your keys, cash, credit cards, nothing. You just have to use one finger,” Mass said.
Maas said that the technology is highly secure and hacking proof because each finger scan produces a unique series of numbers that cannot be replicated.
