(Scroll down for video) A mother was arrested after she offered to sell her children on facebook.
Misty VanHorn, said she was just trying to raise money to pay the bail for her boyfriend.
At first she tried to raise money in her neighborhood. VanHorn went knocking on the doors of her neighbors in an effort to raise money for his bail, according to her neighbors.
"She went from door to door, all around town asking for money to get her boyfriend out of jail,” one neighbor said.
When she wasn’t successful in raising enough money, 22-year-old VanHorn from Oklahoma, allegedly tried to sell her two children to a woman on facebook.
An investigation was launched after a woman called the Fort Smith Department of Human Services and reported that a woman had contacted her through facebook and was trying to sell her two kids. Oklahoma Department of Human Services officials contacted the Sallisaw Police, who arrested VanHorn and took her into custody without incident.
VanHorn offered to sell her 2-year-old son for $1,000 and her 10-month-old baby along with the 2-year-old for $4,000.
When officers asked her why she was trying to sell her children VanHorn said she needed money to bail her boyfriend out of jail, according to police.
VanHorn was jailed and charged with child trafficking. Her children were taken into state custody. Now, she will have to find a way to pay her own $40,000 bail.
