Yeshiva student attack |
(Scroll down for video) A New York yeshiva student was severely beaten by a gang on a New York street, according to video uploaded to the internet.
The yeshiva student on the video was identified as a 20-year-old man, who was walking to his apartment in the upscale Far Rockaway neighborhood of New York.
The young man, who was staying with a friend, was walking on the street while talking on his phone when three young men emerged from behind him and beat him.
The yeshiva student managed to escape at first and called for help, but the attackers chased him and continued to punch him until he collapsed on the street.
The attackers then fled. Police arrived, and discovered that the incident was recorded by security cameras nearby.
Emergency workers responded to the scene and treated the man’s wounds. He was taken to a local hospital after suffering from internal injuries.
A police spokesperson confirmed the attack, but said that the incident was criminal, and a hate crime. The police spokesperson added that the young suspects managed to rob the student’s wallet. Police said that they hope to catch the suspects shortly.
“I watched the attack and I am shocked at the brutality. These youngsters should be charged to the fullest extent of the law,” Moshe Rechnitz, 40, of Far Rockaway, New York told YourJewishNews.com after watching the video of the attack.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
