Israel is preparing a massive police force to guard U.S. president Obama during his visit beginning next week, according to a statement by Israeli officials.

About 15,000 police officers will participate in efforts to ensure the safety of U.S. President Barack Obama during his visit next week. Every Israeli police officer will participate in operational activity, canceling all vacations and days off.

More than 5,000 police officers will be involved in the protection of the presidential entourage alone, which will include more than 600 people. In Jerusalem alone, there will be 3,000 active agents.

"We are preparing for every possibility, even the most serious and threats not based on intelligence. We're taking into account all the scenarios that could develop," the head of police operations, Brigadier General Nissim Mor, said. "We're talking about a very complicated operation," he added.

Police are preparing for different scenarios ranging from an attempt to hurt the president, to the possibility of a war in the north or south. There are also agreements which were made with the Palestinian Authority and the police early next week will launch a campaign to locate Palestinians illegally residing in Israel.
