(Scroll down for video) An elderly man is accused of running a prostitution ring which employed elderly women as the prostitutes.
James Parham, 75, was arrested for allegedly running a prostitution ring from his apartment in Englewood, New Jersey’s public housing complex for senior citizens.
Parham allegedly used both young women from the neighborhood as well as older women who lived in his low income, senior citizens housing complex, police said. Parham allegedly told police that the prostitutes were mostly "women addicted to crack." So far, none of the alleged prostitutes were arrested.
Resident Cheryl Chaney, 66, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a nuisance for allowing drug use in their apartment. Police have learned of the criminal activity after residents complained that strangers came in and out of the complex frequently.
“Many people in the community were shocked by the allegations against Parham. The most shocking was the claim that he used the elderly women as the prostitutes. I think that he preyed on the women because he claims that he used women who are addicted to drugs. Drug users are known to do anything to get their hands on drugs,” Frank Nelson, 43, of Englewood, New Jersey told YourJewishNews.com after the arrest of James Parham.
