3 sick children were saved after receiving the organs of a Jewish youngster who died last week, according to hospital officials in Petah Tikva, Israel.

Itay Rabinovich, 3, tragically died last week after drowning in a pool.

Doctors this week, informed the child’s parents, Noam and Tamar Rabinovich, that Itay’s donated organs were successfully implanted into three children.

Itay’s liver was implanted in Jahaleen Khaled, 6, from Arad, while his kidneys were implanted in a 9-year-old and in a 17-year-old. All procedures were carried out at Schneider Children's Hospital in Petah Tikva, and the three children were reported to be in stable condition.

Itay’s corneas were placed in the eyes of two men, 39-years-old and 56-years-old, at Ichilov Hospital, which helped saved their eyesight.

Rabinovich's family issued a statement in which they said: "The family has received the news of the successful organ transplants and wishes health and happiness to all the transplant recipients and their families.”
Those close to the parents said they were very moved by the news, and were happy that the donations helped five people.

“The family of Itay Rabinovich deserve lots of praise, because despite mourning the death of their little child they were able to find happiness with the fact that their dead child’s organs help save 5 sick people throughout Israel. Other people should learn from the Rabinovich family,” Wilma Cross, 36, of Petah Tikva, Israel told YourJewishNews.com after learning about Itay’s donated organs.

Itay drowned in a private swimming pool. He was hospitalized in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit of Dana Children's Hospital at Ichilov, and died three days later.
