A portable toilet suddenly came flying out of nowhere and slammed into a female driver who was on her way to school.
The teenager was hit first thing Monday morning by the portable toilet, which fell on her Jeep while driving to Monte Vista High School.
A man, who had just made a portable toilet delivery to the school, forgot to safely secure a second toilet. As the man drove away from the parking area onto Route 220, the toilet fell out of his truck, Deputy Chief Jeff Trafton of the Sheriff's Office of Waldo County, said.
She swerved to avoid the flying toilet but her Jeep Cherokee was hit despite her efforts.
"Fortunately for the student, the toilet was clean," police said.
“Out of all things going on while driving on the highway, the last thing I would expect is a toilet coming in my direction. If this happened to me I would freak out and wouldn't drive for a long time,” Terri Salazar, 40, of Beaverton, Oregon told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the flying toilet.
The truck driver, Ronnie Furrow, was issued a citation for having an unsafe load, Trafton said. The deputy chief did not release the teen's name because she is a minor and was not at fault in the accident.
The teenager made an emotional police call to report the accident.
