What a difference a county makes.

While McDonald's in the United States is cutting its prices due to the bad economy, McDonald’s in Israel is raising its prices due to the brisk economy, according to a statement released by McDonald’s.

McDonald’s Israel recently raised the prices on most items on its menu.
A customer, who monitors the prices of the fast food chain, found that the price of a regular meal rose by about 2 shekels.

"I did not realize at first that the prices have gone up, but when I had to pay I suddenly realized I have a higher than normal bill. When the cashier saw me check the price, he said that everything had gone up. I really do not like the fact that I used to pay 40 shekels for my meal and now I have to pay 50 shekels for a meal," one angry customer said.

The chain seems to have raised prices on most of the meals by one shekel from 41.90 to 42.90, an increase of 2.3 percent. The price for a children’s meal increased by .40, from 27.50 to 27.90, an increase of 1.4 percent.
French fries now cost 12.90 instead of 12.50, an increase of 3.2 percent. Prices on salads and ice creams increased by .30.

The positive side is that the prices of some items on the menu has been reduced. A Big America now cost 42.90 instead of 44.90, or a decrease of 4.4 percent.

“I definitely do not like the price increase, but since I love McDonald’s menu items and I could afford the higher prices I will continue buying there,” Leon Dan, 39, of Tel Aviv, Israel told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the McDonald’s price increase.

The last time that Israel McDonald’s raised prices of most items was in September 2012.
