Pigeons in Brooklyn New York |
An ultra-Orthodox Jewish woman living in the Satmar neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York, boasted that pigeon blood removes warts from Jews, but non Jews shouldn't even try it because it won't work, according to an advertisement recently placed in Brooklyn, New York.
The recent advertisement ran in a Satmar newspaper called Di Tzeitung.
The announcement recommended pouring the bird blood over the offensive skin growth, leaving it there for an hour and then washing it off. After two or three weeks, with the help of God, the wart will be gone, according to the woman.
The woman who placed the advertisement said that her daughter had a wart on her hand, which disappeared after treatment.
"I did this to help people," she said. "You go to the market, you buy a pigeon, and you pour the blood on the wart. That's all," she added.
However, the woman warned that the cure only works on Jews. "The Gentiles are not able to take this," the woman said.
“I disagree with what the woman posted for several reasons. First of all, her so called cure has no scientific or medical backing. Also, how can this ultra-Orthodox Jewish woman be so racist to say that a cure works only on Jews and doesn't work on non Jews? It is totally insane. I hope people don’t start pouring bird blood over the children,” Barry Weiss, 33, of Brooklyn, New York, told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the nasty wart remedy.
