(Scroll down for video) A children’s doctor was arrested and charged with child porn related charges after being caught with possessing loads of child porn, according to a statement released by Washington D.C. police.
The highly respected Washington, D.C. pediatrician, who treated children in the slums of the city for decades, was arrested Wednesday and accused of downloading child pornography, according to federal court documents.
The man, Doctor Robert Paul Dickey, 74, was charged with two federal charges of receiving and possessing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
The doctor was looking at a child pornography site on his desktop computer when police and FBI agents showed up to search his home, according to court documents filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Washington.
The complaint, said that agents saw the doctor visiting child porn sites, downloading child pornography, and storing images on an external hard drive.
For at least 44 years, Dickey was considered a pillar of the community, the treatment of children in the slums of Washington south of the Anacostia River.
Dickey was arrested on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children based on information provided by Microsoft Corp., the complaint said. Specifically, Microsoft said that an Outlook user uploaded about 14 images of child pornography from an account with the user name Robert Dickey.
The investigators tracked the IP address of the computer to Dickey's house in Southeast Washington, the complaint said.
“This guy is one sick dude. It is heartbreaking that it took so long for police officers to get on his trail. Who know how many children this doctor already sexually assaulted. I hope no parent will ever let their child near this sick old pervert,” Dawn James, 20, of Washington, D.C. told YourJewishNews.com after learning about doctor Dickey.
Dickey’s grandchildren, one 9-year-old and the other a baby under one year old, lives with him in the same house, the complaint said.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
