Fire in Bnei Brak Israel |
(Scroll down for video) At least seven people were injured after a large house fire broke out in Bnei Brak, Israel, according to a statement released by Israeli fire officials.
Early morning around 1:00 am, the fire rescue center received a call of a house on fire. The burning house was located at the intersection of Kalisher Street and Tsirelson Street in Bnei Brak. Dan area rescue workers and Ichud Hatzalah rescue workers responded to the scene along with local firefighters.
The fire first broke out in an open area near a number of apartment buildings, and then spread. A large number of occupants were injured and dozens more were evacuated from their apartments.
A rescue worker at the scene said: "Due to the dense smoke that penetrated the apartments, numerous people suffered from smoke inhalation."
“The situation came under control quickly which reduced the number of injuries. We are thankful that no one died. It was nice to see how all three rescue organizations were able to work together,” Nechemya Rutter, 50, of Bnei Brak, Israel told YourJewishNews.com after being at the scene of the fire.
Api Feldman, the regional branch manager of United Hatzalah Bnei Brak, said: "Paramedics and volunteers evacuated the occupants of nearby buildings, including a child care facility. A total of seven people were taken to a hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation, two of whom were in serious condition."Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
